SIMEONE
Simeone delivered excellent performances as a midfielder with a strong forward presence into the opposition box, great physical stamina and a notable header of the ball. In the 1995-1996 season, his goals, passion and character proved decisive in winning the historic Double. After leaving the club in 1997 to play in Italian football, Simeone returned to a rebuilding Atleti in 2003, a new spell that allowed him to reconnect with a fanbase that adored him. He then went back to Argentina to retire from professional football. In 2011, his charisma and his red-and-white passion allowed him to write a new chapter in the club's history, this time as a coach.
