FERNANDO TORRES STRICKER

An absolute icon of Atleti, Fernando Torres is one of the finest pure strikers in modern Spanish football: fast and powerful, an excellent header of the ball, a strong counter-attacker, a clinical finisher and a player capable of unbalancing defenses. From his breakthrough in the Second Division, his strong personality and his way of leading the team helped Atlético de Madrid reclaim its place among the elite. In the 2006-2007 season, Torres decided to move to English football, beginning a period in which he went on to win every major international title. He returned to Atleti in January 2015, in a presentation that packed out the Calderón. As the crowning moment of his legendary career, he bid farewell as an Atlético de Madrid player by lifting the Europa League trophy, alongside Gabi, in 2018.
