Few players like Adelardo embody the prototype of the red-and-white footballer, one who combines quality with commitment and performance with passion. After joining the Atlético setup at a very young age, he soon earned a place in the lineup. First as an inside forward, thanks to his short-passing game and his goalscoring instinct, and later as a central midfielder, a position in which he settled over the years thanks to his reading of the game and his physical attributes. His legacy: 17 seasons in which he amassed ten titles (a club record) and became the second player with the most official appearances (553) in an Atlético de Madrid shirt.
